Zilco is a world leader in the design and production of synthetic saddlery products and exports to all major equestrian markets worldwide. Zilco is one of the largest private wholesale companies in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, supplying major saddlery stores in these regions. Many products are exported to equestrian companies all over the world including Europe, the Middle East, United States, Canada, South East Asia and Japan.
Zilco began in the early 1960's as a small factory in Sydney, Australia making lightweight racing products from revolutionary synthetic materials. In the early 1980's the factory was moved to Christchurch, New Zealand following a joint venture with Trist & Small, a family business who had been making harness since 1872. Zilco have always been innovators in manufacturing by ingenious design with top quality modern
materials and traditional skills. This continues to form the base of product
development today. Since the 1970's Zilco have also been general wholesalers
selling a complete range of equestrian products, including some leading European
brands. Zilco staff includes specialists from racing, driving, trotting and
endurance. This knowledge and experience is used in product design and
development.
